What to look for in your Guide. You're looking for a Warcraft guide that will satisfy your needs in game. If you want to level quickly Joana and Brian's Horde and Alliance Leveling guides are the best for this. If you want fast WoW gold then Luke or Valkor's gold guides would be the best option for you. Either way we review top WoW Guides including World of Warcraft Leveling Guide, World of Warcraft Strategy Guide and Horde Leveling Guides. Below are the criteria mmobag used to evaluate Warcraft guide:
World of Warcraft Leveling Guides About Privacy Sitemap Contact Resources WoW Gold Guide Reviews Horde Leveling Guide Reviews World of Warcraft Leveling Guides PvP for the beginning HK: 11 rules for the starter weasel It is not unusual for younger or less experienced players to approach me with questions on my PvP experience. "Allie," they ask. "How can we avoid sucking like you?" "Well, first it helps to have a functional mouse," I always say, favoring them with a benevolent smile whilst swirling a fine glass of port. "Click-to-move is usually impossible when neither your right mouse button nor scroll wheel actually work. You'd be amazed at the number of problems you can pin on your refusal to replace a relatively cheap piece of equipment. Never, ever, get rid of Mr. Gimpy if you want a ready excuse for being a keyboard turner." They scribble this and then look at me reverently, hopeful for any additional pearls of wisdom I might drop. However, after receiving so many queries and accidentally mistelling most of them with, "I can tank, but gimme a sec to get rid of this punk who's bugging me," I have decided, in the spirit of all gifted Machiavellians, to preserve my bad advice in a medium more lasting than /w. For beyond faulty mice, children, we get into more advanced and underhanded PvP tactics... Now, I do not wish to boast, but my PvP experience has been called by many "an example to others," although they always say this with a funny look on their faces. I managed to avoid PvP almost entirely before hitting 70, but after that realized that arena gear was absurdly good and an easy way to stay defense-capped as a bear tank. Many months and much grumbling later, I have emerged a better, wiser player, though not because I have exhibited anything within shouting distance of talent at actual PvP. Oh, no. What you need, dear player, is the ability to put your strengths to work on the battlefield, and sometimes your strength lies in what the Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams would refer to as being a total weasel: 1. Fool someone who's actually good into signing up for your El Stinko arena team or pre-made. It helps to be a raider. Running around Shatt in your offspec phat lewtz will occasionally give people the impression that you actually know what you're doing, even when your primary contribution to raids is a "Who, me?" at being told to get out of the fire/avoid the volcanoes/don't move during Flame Wreath/run away from Leo/I told you to get out of the fire/don't Moonfire the sheep. Failing this, you may need to put in the time and effort to afk in a sufficient number of battlegrounds to get Season 1 gear. See #4. 2. Commiserate over the fact that Armory is still bugged. "God*****t, I wish Blizzard would just fix their s**t. I had a 2300 rating last week and it's still not showing up! And I'm still "guildless?" Christ." 3. Try to be any of the following: MS Warrior, (Flavor of the Month), (Flavor of the Month), or MS Warrior. Confucius say, wise man levels class being played by lead game designer. 4. Actual PvP gear helps to perpetuate the illusion that you are competent. Horde used to have this covered by afking in the "Peace Cave" of AV. Now that the Participation Gestapo is busily sniffing around all corners of the battleground looking for lazy jerks people with a strong-minded opposition to violence and a preference for peace and quiet, it may actually be necessary to afk at a node under the guise of defending it. This exposes you to almost certain periodic death and no small amount of hassle and honor loss while you wait to rez. No one ever said that earning decent gear would be easy! For the Horde! Or whatever else the other half of the game plays, I dunno. 5. Exhibit more frustration with failure than is probably merited. "D****T! I HAD THAT GUY! HE WAS HANGING BY A THREAD! STUPID KEYBOARD! %#&@(#(%!" "You having some computer problems today?" "Yeah, my right mouse button doesn't work." 6. Find someone who actually does know what they're doing, or is just insanely overgeared, and /follow. Did you just zone into a WSG match next to a warrior or a shaman in full Season 3? This person is now your god. Hug them. Love them. Stay close to them. You will draw enemies to your weak butt like a moth to the flame, and the self-interest of the Arena God will see to it that they become HK. Your relationship is a special one; symbiotic, almost. Beautiful. 7. Blame your healer. There is a long and storied MMORPG tradition of blaming the healer whenever something goes horribly, horribly wrong. You're a Mage in Spellstrike who gets one-shot in the first five seconds of the match? LOS'd your pally while a hunter's turning you into a pincushion? Rogue chewing your druid to pieces and you can't be arsed to quit beating his partner? Just repeat to yourself, in very soothing tone akin to that of Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting, that it's not your fault. It wasn't your fault. It's never going to be your fault. And it's especially not your fault the devs didn't give you a heal button. There, there. 8. If you are the healer, blame the dps. And if they don't like it, they can go roll their own friggin' healer and experience the pleasure of being the immediate target of every yoohoo with a two-hander. Why is all the good healing gear so shiny? Why does the +81 healing enchant leave a glowing, trailing vapor so blinding that an enemy with advanced glaucoma can see you from a mile away? Blizzard should just cut the crap and skin every piece of +heal gear in the game with a giant bullseye instead of taunting us with items like Priest On A Stick. 9. Blame the tank. Force of habit. 10. Undermine the resident battleground strategist. Now, you know and I know that the surest means of winning any BG node is a good, old-fashioned zerg. What better way to accomplish your aims in a BG than to descend upon every tower, flag, and individual enemy as a maddened pack of lemmings? Safety in numbers! Your enemy will never have a chance to prove he's better than you are if his life gets snuffed out in less than a second. Nevertheless, there's always that one person in a BG who surveys the map like a latter-day Napoleon and calls out tips that, if obeyed, might actually work. Two can play at this game. Well-timed /bg posts like "No one's defending mines," "Only one defender at DR," and "All in!" should draw help to your cause regardless of whether your cause is actually worth fighting for at that point (or if you choose to include details on additional stealthed defenders). This is a war, man, and there are casualties! You may be among them but at least you won't die alone. 11. Never forget the importance of being an otherwise useless distraction. This is the sole weasel tactic of actual strategic value. Anyone who's trying to kill you is someone who's not trying to kill the healer or the player capping the node/flag, and it may be time for you to accept that your most singular contribution to group PvP may be as a kamikaze. Run like a spanked cat as soon as your health hits 30%, and with any luck you'll trail a number of opportunistic sharks oblivious to the fact that someone's in their base killin their doodz. This article has not been endorsed by anyone on the WoW Insider staff including its writer, and may or may not have been written following a five-cap defeat in Arathi Basin and a 67-minute (albeit successful) WSG match. WoW Guide: Easy gold for high lvl skinners WoW Guide: Easy gold for high lvl skinners IF you have the time required to make this profitable. Yes, it can yield you 500 gold in 2 days but you will have to play 8 hours a day in order to do it! For some people this just isn't realistic. Angerclaw Maulers Felwood, X37, Y44. I'm taking it upon myself to let everyone know about this because I have made a sickly amount of gold here latley, and a very disturbing amount in the past 2 weeks. The respawn rate is insanely fast, When you kill the whole spawn camp of them which is about 11-12 and take a 1 minute break you'll start having respawns to kill. Where does the money come from you ask? First you have some stackable gray items that are very commonly dropped: Large Bear Bone(Non-Stackable) - 14s 84c each Bear Jaw(Stackable) - 8s 98c -- 89s 80c per Stack of 10. Savage Bear Claw(Stackable) - 5s 78c -- 57s 80c per Stack of 10. Bear Flank(Stackable) - 5s 78c -- 57s 80c per Stack of 10. Wicked Claw(Stackable) - 5s -- 25s per Stack of 5. I make anywhere from 9 to 13 gold in gray items per hour here. Even without the skinning compared to most places this is a great camp for gold/hr. But skinning is where a lot of the money to come from if you want the results like I get. You can skin Rugged and Thick leather off of these. My server prices are 2.50g per stack of Rugged and 1.50g per stack of Thick. Server prices are going to range, The intake of gold on this obviously is based only on my servers prices, But you will still make amazing gold here if you put the time in. So where does all the money come from? I take 8 hours a day and I run it here, Straight. Not every day, Usually in the evenings and into the late hours on the nights I'm not raiding and ocasionally if there is a third day I'll get up around 7am to start and I can be done around mid afternoon so I can enjoy the day or do something else in game. A single hour run brings on brings me in 6 Stacks of Rugged Leather and 5 stacks of Thick Leather. I don't know if it's because my kill rate is fast or just pure luck, But I can't remember when I have come away from this with less leather then that in an hours run. 6x 2.50g = 15g per hour 5x 1.50g = 7.5g per hour If I average out my usual grey items income per hour then I come away with 10.5g per hour. I'm going to edit this tomorrow and record all of my drops and leather intake from my 8 hours, But this is accurate. I've been making money like this for months now. Now, On to the juicy part... Intake per hour based on Leather sales on the AH is 22.50g Per HOUR. Intake per hour based on sellable greys averages out at about 10.50g 33 Gold per hour. Wipe the drool off keyboard and keep reading I run this 8 hours per day, Two days a week. Sometimes 3 but rarely. Skinning is obviously required to get the bigger chuck of change for your time. Some of you all day BG'ers could make literally thousands of gold here in a week if you took a week off from all day long BG and went here, Just a thought. And I'm not exaggerating. Thousands. I try to run these 2 days back to back and I generally refuse to put up my auctions and vendor until I have my 16 hours worth of loot. I just throw it all in the bank. At the end of my 2 days I usually end up taking 510g - 545g out of my mailbox. +\- a few gold for randomness of drops. I have over 5000g in my bag right now. If you want an exact number then it's 5649g. All of that gold was made in this spot except about 600g. Maybe some of you should thinking of switching professions Anyway, This made me rich. Simple as that, Hopfully it will do the same for you. WoW Hunter Guide: Grizhak's Guide to "Gray" Pet Levelling at 70 By Grizhak After reaching Outland and level 70, people complain about the types of pets available to them on that level. This guide will hopefully give you a look on how to level a pet from a level from totally useless to above 60 - where raw grinding and instance runs take over. Of course, you *can* do instance runs with your level all-too-low pet, but as most people tend to hate and blame a low level pet for everything, far less permit the hunter to bring it, I will focus on getting the little bastard to 60 for now. The hard way, all solo of course. Be warned, once the pet reaches 60, the process of levelling will go much slower as he will require almost four times the amount of xp needed to gain a level. If someone could provide me with the exact numbers I will include them here (with credits, of course). This is my first guide, and lacking other guides on the subject, why not write one? So here you are... comments and suggestions are welcome, as long as you keep it civil and constructive ;) Table of Contents Part 1 - Getting started Part 1a - Skills and talents Part 1b - Equipment Part 1c - Pet skills Part 2 - The technique Part 3 - Places to grind Part 4 - Conclusion Other stuff Part 1 - Getting started Part 1a - Skills and talents Skills - Aimed Shot - Concussion Shot - Scatter Shot - Steady Shot - Aspect of the Viper - Hunter's Mark Talents A good marksman build with a few points in survival and beastmastery works well here. The trick to this way of doing it is to down the enemy before it gets too close without burning too much mana and without using your pet at all. I will give you a sample build and explain some of it now. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=mVbhZEE0RVzMxotcG - 10/43/8 This build has a few survival talents that helps against the enemies featured in this guide as your prime target - humanoids. It also features Hawk Eye, which is almost mandatory for a hunter these days, even so for us in this situation. Efficiency points may be sacrificed for Careful Aim, depending on your preference. Remember, this is an optimized variant of my character's levelling build, and a more general approach would be preferred if you plan to do other things than just levelling a grey pet. The other Beast Mastery talents helps your overall damage and survivability in melee. As long as your build contains the above mentioned skills and preferrably Savage Strikes and Hawk Eye. Part 1b - Equipment Nothing really fancy. A good dps gun with a steady shot rotation you're familiar with and an OK melee weapon. I prefer slow two-handers for Mongoose Bite and Raptor Strike, but do what you feel is best. My weapon of choice: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23748 - Ornate Khorium Rifle. Good, slow and with a nice DPS to boot. A bit more expensive than http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31303 - Valanos' Longbow, but I recommend either of these for the task ahead. Oh, and a decent crit rate (15% and more) is a plus, but you can manage without. It'll just be a bit slower. Part 1c - Pet skills Before you tame your pet of choice, be sure to have learned all the skills you plan to teach him. For example, before getting my Ashmane Boar I had to tame a Rip-Blade Ravager to learn it's Gore rank 9, a Plagued Swine for Charge rank 6 and I already had Dash rank 3. See http://www.goodintentionsguild.info/hunters.html for a list of pet skills and where to get them. Part 2 - The technique So, how to do it? I'll give you a short walk trough an average battle: Hunter's Mark when running to range, Aimed Shot, Concussive Shot (if melee mob), Arcane Shot, Steady Shot, Auto Shot, Steady Shot (Concussive Shot will have worn off by now). Depending on your number of crits and the mob's health you can now either finish him off in melee, try to finish him off while still at range, or Scatter Shot him and do a Steady Shot + Auto Shot. He should be dead by now. If you fight casters, you might want to use Silencing Shot. If you get the distance right, he will stop running towards you and start casting again before getting too close for you to shoot him. In any case, remember to use Aspect of the Viper. Don't be ashamed if you get some downtime, personally I solved that by not using Arcane Shot unless the mob was closing in on me with 2000+ health. With decent gear that won't happen often anyway. Rinse and repeat in your area of choice or until the pet gets level enough to hold aggro. That's when you can begin the "ordinary" grind. Side note: Traps I tried using traps for this kind of grind, but it's not worth the time or mana. Use some extra mana on your shots instead. Side note 2: Stings Not worth the mana either. The mob will die before too long has passed, and the dot effect of Serpent Sting breaks Scatter Shot. Mana better used on something else. Part 3 - Places to grind Grind. A terrible word. But that's what it is - experience grinding. I have chosen these areas out of efficiency, not out of drops. These are the areas I have tried and have experience with, you might have other favourites. The level range is from 62 and above because at level 70, neither you or the pet (at ANY level) will get experience from mobs at 61 and below. Preferred place, second if not alone: Firewing Point (Terokkar Forest) - around 70,35 Mob level range: 63-64 Mobs: Around theglowing centre with the manabomb - Mainly warlocks, which stays at range most of the time. Casts shadowbolt and immolate, often resisted. Some melee mobs. All the mobs have a small chance to drain about 1200+ mana if you're closer than approx. 20 yards. Common drops: Silver, Netherweave and Runecloth, water and bread, Firewing Signets (low-level scryer rep) and very rarely Arcane Tomes. Great if you are alone, because you can mainly grind off warlocks. Only technique to worry about is to keep distance. Once they start casting they'll stay at range. Downside is that the place is a quest place, making it quite possible someone else is there too, "stealing" your mobs. Also the warlocks do some damage, making it likely you will get some downtime. Otherwise a brilliant spot :) Can also be used at levels above 60. A close second: The Den of Haal'esh (Hellfire Peninsula) - around 26,75 Mob level range: 62-63 Mobs: Melee and ranged casters. Some grey level birds, easily avoided. Melee mobs might get a running speed buff, which makes raptor strike useless. Use Scatter Shot instead to gain range if needed. Common drops: Silver, Netherweave and Runecloth, a few pieces of meat and some water. Also tons of light feathers. This is the place I found the most effective in pure xp value. The mobs respawn quickly, the ones questing in the area leave as soon as they are done and there are no high level gankers around. Also, if you are horde like me, the vendor at Falcon Watch is only a minute away. A close third: Veil Shienor (Terokkar Forest) - around 58,23 Mob level range: 62-63(?) Mobs: Melee and a few stationary ranged casters. A named quest mob. Common drops: Silver, Arakkoa Feathers (used for Lower City rep), Netherweave and Runecloth, Light Feathers, meat and water. The skettis camps in Terokkar is often crawling with both alliance and horde, and mobs can be scarce at times. The Arakkoa Feathers make these camps popular for level 70 rep grinders. Still, I find Veil Shienor, just northeast of Tuurem, to be the better choice over the others. If you are alone, you will soon find your own "rounds" in the camp without waiting for respawns. Fourth: The Hewn Bog (Zangarmarsh) - around 33,33 and as far as the ogres go Mob level range: 62-64(?) Mobs: Melee and semi-ranged casters with fire nova totems. A named quest mob. The melee ones enrages on low health. The casters are slow patrollers, but not enough to be a problem. Common drops: Silver, Netherweave and Runecloth. Between both alliance and horde towns, these ogres are close to both and a good grind. The distance between them tends to be big if you cleared out an area, and they don't respawn as fast as the arakkoa in Hellfire and Terokkar. Low health and easily downed if you got a good gun. Still, you hardly get your rythm going because of gankers and other questers killing the mobs. Part 4 - Conclusion So there you have it. That's how you can level any pet of any level to level 60 and above with (hopefully) minimum amounts of pain as far as soloing goes. Great thanks to... umm... Blizzard for making this game and my Ashmane Boar Borka for staying with me. He's been level 70 for some weeks now, and now it's the Noxious Plaguebat Greywing's turn! Other stuff Some nice to know facts: - You and your pet shares the aggro range, regardless of level. That means the pet won't aggro pull because of its low level. - All pets will are able to learn Cobra Reflexes. No need to level King Bangalash just for that skill. - There are no beast-class (tameable) boars above level 60. - For most pet-related questions, see http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/ - Cower sucks. Update: Added an "Other stuff" section and a link to pet skills. Update 2: Added Firewing Point to "Places to grind". Update 2: Edited some "nice to know facts". Update 3: Minor reprasing some places, moved Firewing Point to "Preferred place" position. |
